I don't have W:A, only WWP and you can't there. To get the superweapons in WWP you need to add three wormpots: Extra Powerful Firearms, Double Damage, Super Rope

When I play UT2003 for example, everything runs smoother with V-Sync disabled so that I can set higher detail levels. With V-Sync enabled the game runs very slow.

Just one suggestion here DC, and one i don't think should be too hard to implement. Can you please, please, PLEEEEAAASE get rid of that fall distance which is just enough to do damage but isn't quite enough to bring the parachute out? I'm fed up of being anally violated by it.

beta patch screws me over

i installed worms armageddon and it worked "ok" but then i installed the beta patch and moved everyhing towards the bottom right of the screen, and i couldn't leave without pressing ctrl+alt+del. Also, it said no words under the icon, what shoul i do?

What your talking about is disabling something because you dont like it when it happens to you? (i bet u'd like it if it happend to someone else!) OK its annoying when it happens, but its still a question of skill. If you've fallen off the rope at such a distance, then its hl/bl really isnt it.

Oh & too redwraith - W:A Isnt 3D. Incase u didint notice :P (i think it also has a frame limit of its own)

You don't understand me. I disabled V-Sync for 3D games and this causes a bug in W:A.

How about, (suggestion) press the spacebar during the fall when you have chute selected, pull out the chute?

Yes, it's a question of skill, the more skillful people manage to not fall that distance when they accidentally slide off a cliff or hit a wall .

The point is that people put the parachute in the scheme because they want everyone in the game to be able to use it to save themselves if they fall off the rope, therefore this should happen in all cases. If you see it differently, ie that people who are not skillful enough (or who don't slow down a bit to rope safely enough) should suffer from their mistakes, then you have the option to take the parachute out of the scheme.

How many people in here tried to rope-knock someone off that bottom-middle ledge in dOgMa's City Shopper 2002 to create a nice pile ripe for a HHG, and ended up in the pile yourself because of this glitch? You all understand what i mean...

[Before anyone starts, don't even bother with that rope knocking argument again. It's off topic, and already been had]

I just realized what was going on here. In WA, some redundancies were eliminated, like backwards animations that are otherwise exactly the same as their forwards counterparts. I'll bet someone was planning to eliminate further redundancy -- rotations of sprites that could be reproduced by 90 degree rotations of a smaller set of frames. But they didn't get around to implementing it in the code. So, I'll implement it in the code. :-)

First of all, it would have been nice if you'd mentioned you were talking about the rope. In some schemes like T17, the chute is a tool in itself, and there is no problem remotely like what you're saying.

Secondly, there is no such thing as a "fall distance which is just enough to do damage but isn't quite enough to bring the parachute out". If you collide too hard between rope swings, the chute doesn't activate. Otherwise it does.

What's happening is that the worm you knocked is smashing into your own worm and killing your chute. Try doing the same thing with rope knocking disabled -- your chute will activate.

I think you misunderstood him Deadcode. What he is talking about is, there is a certain distance where if you fall off a cliff with chute activated, you hit the ground a milisecond before your chute activates therefore you lose your turn. And if the distance was any shorter, you would have just fallen on the ground and not lost your turn. I think its a part of the game that you just have to avoid even though it has happened to me countless times in maps.

Deadcode, I have a few easy suggestions. On the map screen, do you think you could put in a button to click for a WaterDrop? It would be a hell of a lot easier just to press it instead of guessing the water level.

Also how you talked about set rules. I think it is a good idea, but one person mentioned that the person in last place should be invincible to an attack lets say in a shopper but if you hit a person and that worm triggers a mine near a last place worm, I still think the last place worm should be hit, because it was indirect.

There is no such thing. I know this for a fact. That's what I thought he was talking about at first, which confused me. But he was talking about the rope -- read his follow-ups.

I know for sure you are not hitting the worm thats ending your turn and not letting your chute come out. It happens even when you are not knocking a worm with the rope. You can test this by going off one certain cliff with the rope, but not knocking anyone, on dogmas city shopping map and your chute wont activate and you will lose the turn. Because it is the perfect distance. the PERFECT distance, dun dun DUN

btw: what did you think of my wd and set rules idea, not if you already knew about that...

If you slide off something... there is a fall distance at which you will take 1 or 2 damage... but the chute will not open. I call it the One Damage Factor... quite annoying =)

And as soon as I mention the first thing about piracy... I get banned from the forum for a good week... Keeper just admitted that he pirated W:A and Joe just offered to help him but does anything happen to them?

Edit: Just realized there was a 7th page, heh =)

hey i never admitted to anything like that... at least not openly in the forum... second I didnt pirate the game... someone else did and left me with the sh*t copy of the game. which i was under the impression at the time was legal untill recent conversations with someone who kind of is kind of isn't a friend has led me to information reguarding the legitimacy of the program. Still I payed for it and i'm gonna get the most out of it!!!

And if they want to ban me so be it! I didn't ask for this grief, but i'm stuck with it.. I got deadcode scratching his head about the whole thing cause neither one of us are sure exactly wtf is up my version..

It acts patched but it isn't... you figure it out.

lmao... already did that... like i said were not realy friends any more.... we got into a "physical confrontation" which led to his broken nose my cracked rib and a nice fine from the local magistrate... the fight was over an unrelated incodent...(life is too complicated... i just want to play worms....lol)

alternativley, fundage isn't what it used to be. I Just got myself out of the pokey over some dumb sh*t i don't even want to discuss. So I havn't a job yet and i can barley afford rent each month let alone go out and buy worms... seems silly that i can't afford a game that's all of about 15.00 bucks. but that's the way it is. So like I said, i just want to play womrs, and i want to get the most of of what i have. and i had everyone's suport until TonY blew my spot up... no mater if no one want's to help me get online then i'll find some other free way. Or in a few months if i haven't violated my parole i'll be able to save enough pennies for the d**n thing.

Btw, in grade 8 i broke someone's nose. And gave someone a concussion in our friendly schoolyard walnut fights

I posted that coment for entertainment not to act tough.. it's not like I go around looking for trouble.. I'm still acomputer geek at heart. but if you really want me to top you: here goes:


in grade 5 I knocked 3 of William Ishmans teeth out of his skull for mothing off about my mom. in grade 8 I beat Jason Vogol unmercifly with an aliminum baseball bat ($750.00 fine). Last year I was hit in the head with an axe while splitting firewood, it was an acceident and not nearly as bad as it sounds, however it did require 8 stitches and it bled a lot. Next off toughguy, i stand six foot five inches tall, and weigh 205 pounds... (not sure what that is in metric) but it makes me a pretty big dude. I have been in over 30 fights in my life and i'm only 21.

For the encore I just got out of Jail, a six month bit, details on why and i had to fight with convicts on a weekly basis. I did more time in the hole than on the block. and i never lost...
But still .. i don't want a hard tiem,,, i just want to play worms

By the way my rib is CRACKED not broken

And this thred is about deadcodes beta patch not warstories so why don't we try to get back on topic... sorry DC

I had a choice between changing the chute threshold to match the damage threshold, or vice versa. I chose the latter, because the higher threshold occurs in many places and the lower one occurs in just one place. The upshot of this is that sliding off that dogma cliff now doesn't require a chute.

And I agree with you all the way zippeurfou :-) The change I just made makes it simpler, actually.
